Events

Back to School Events: Right before school starts, each class is invited to participate in a special playdate so the children and parents can get to know each other. Examples include raspberry picking and meeting up at a playground. Each classroom lead teacher also makes a special trip to every child's home to introduce herself and get to know the child before the first day in the classroom. This further smooths the transition.

Special Visitor's Days: In October and February we invite a parent or special friend or family member to join each Bowen child in a seasonal activity and to share a special snack.

Potluck Supper: Each fall the Hospitality Committee and the Vice-Presidents host a potluck supper for the parents and staff -always great fun and great food! The Fundraising Committee holds a Children’s Art Auction over dessert.

Community Sing-a-long & Holiday Party: All classes gather on the last day of school before the holiday vacation to sing. Then, each class hosts a holiday party for its families. The children cook and decorate for the event.

Annual Pancake Breakfast: In March, children and families gather together for a pajama pancake breakfast and fundraising raffle.

Yard Sale: The first Saturday in May brings our annual yard sale organized by our Fundraising Committee.

End of the year Picnic: The school year ends with an evening family picnic held on the last day of school, rain or shine.

"We were amazed by the sense of community created by the cooperative nature of the school, and our entire family has benefited from the friendships we have made at Bowen." - Jen, Parent
