Pre-K: The Year is winding down but we are revving up!
As promised, here is the video of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
Spontaneously, the students started to build a chain last week to see how far it would go. They continued their work this week and discovered it was big enough to loop out of the classroom, around, and back in to where it started!
Now that we have a basic understanding of coins, we thought: why not practice some money management skills! Students were given a set amount of change that they could spend in the "Bowen 5 and Dime". It was so interesting to watch how each student approached this responsibility and help them through the process.
We brought a little science into our money investigation by cleaning pennies and then experimenting with different solutions to see what worked best to get them untarnished!
We always love when the aquarium visits us! It was fascinating to learn about these little tide pool critters and take a close look at what makes each of them so unique.
We finished off The United States by learning a little about the Statue of Liberty and welcoming Ella's grandfather who told us a bit about what life is like on a cattle ranch. It was amazing to see and hear how in parts of our country (small town Montana) not much has changed in the past 100 years. Life without electricity, running water, out houses, etc... hard to imagine!
