Yes, it has happened. Our first playground flower has bloomed. We have certainly been enjoying the playground and hill the past few weeks, as well as a few walks around the neighborhood. Here's hoping for more warm weather and sunny days to come.
We are now heading into the last stretch of the year, and trust me, the time between April break and the last day of school flies by. We have one last fundraising event coming up, our annual YARD SALE on May 5th! This is Bowen’s only fundraiser that reaches out to the surrounding community and I have already started getting calls from neighbors and alumni about when to drop off items. I know it is a busy time of year, but we are counting on all our families to donate items, sign up for a shift, and help make the day a success. Come help set up on Friday, May 4th, and you get first dibs on the items for sale!
We hope to use a few of those yard sale dollars to help throw our end of year picnic on June 1st. For those who don’t know, we celebrate the end of the year by gathering on the Bowen hill for pizza, popsicles and fun. Families bring picnic blankets, siblings are welcome, and some linger until well after sunset. Older siblings who have graduated from Bowen come back and reconnect with classmates. It is a wonderful way to end the year and celebrate what makes our community so special. Make sure you have marked your calendar, you won’t want to miss it.
Best, Nina
