Pre-K: Happy Holidays!

Anticipating that this week might be a little nuts, we designated it as a week of review and holiday preparation. We incorporated activities around the letters and sounds we've already learned, holiday pattern bracelets, venn diagrams and decomposing the number 5 on our hands. But our main goal was really to get into the cozy holiday spirit through making and wrapping our family gifts, listening to music and reading books all as a community.

We learned about how Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan and Christmas share a celebration of light and read the books The Runaway Latkes, Seven Candles for Kwanzaa, Night of the Moon, and The Knights Before Christmas. When we come back from break, we will be in full-on winter mode, so please check your child’s cubby to make sure that there are extra (labeled) clothes in case anything gets wet or it’s extra cold outside.

Below are the things your children are most looking forward to over the next few weeks:

Haley: We have a break!

Gracie: Presents and our Christmas tree!

Harry: Lighting the candles!

Carter: Eating pancakes!

Jack: Visiting Santa!

Asher: Christmas, the toys!

Evan: Christmas and gifts!

Jiyoo: Decorating walls with red-colored hearts!

Lara: Getting presents and eating noodles!

Selah: Getting presents and opening them!

David: Family time and play time!

Nathan: Family time!

Catherine: Spending Christmas in Oklahoma City!

THANK YOU for the lovely wreaths and for the thoughtfulness that went into them. We have loved sharing the past few months with your children, and we are so grateful for them and for all of you. We hope that you have a wonderful break filled with relaxation and laughter, and safe travels to all those who will be in the air or on the road. We can’t wait to see you in January!

In the meantime, we’ve included lots of pictures this week. Enjoy!
