Director's Column: Getting Settled In

Even though it's only been a few weeks, it feels like we are all getting settled in. I've been popping in and out of the classrooms and have been so impressed with how well everyone has made the transition! Here are a few highlights from my week:

  • Making cakes, pancakes, and homes for ants in the sandbox with Natasha and Lilly.

  • Getting served a banana, a slice of chocolate cake, and a lettuce leaf by Will and Jax in dramatic play.

  • Looking at the light shine through different shades of blue at the light table with Charlie.

  • Building ramps for cars in the block area with Ariyan, Isla, and George.

  • Picking apples and buying applesauce and donuts from Reid and Eli in the 5-Day apple orchard.

  • Getting a giant group hug from the entire 5-day class.

  • Watching Connor and Hazel learn how to use a pulley to lift a baby up into the Pre-K loft.

  • Checking out Nate and Marie Sophie's dance moves during Pollock painting.

  • Searching for special pompoms in the discovery table with Hope.

Every time I walk into a classroom, the children are happy, busy, and making the most of their days at school. Tours for next year’s prospective families will be starting soon and I can’t wait for them to see the school in action! If you know of any families looking for a preschool for next year, please let them know enrollment opens October 15th, and they should call us to schedule a tour!

Best, Nina
